Sun kissed beaches, excellent dining experiences, camel rides and luxury shopping – Dubai has it all. It’s the ultimate holiday experience with a fair share of Bedouin culture thriving alongside an ever-evolving cosmopolitan. A city with the ambition to be the leading tourist destination, Dubai has some incredible sights and thrills for every age, so wWhether you’re just visiting or already a Dubai resident, here’s our list of adventures you have to experience.
Skydive at the Palm
Experience the adrenaline rush of skydiving over a manmade island shaped like a palm tree. The view is breathtaking and unlike any other experience in the world – just try to focus as you plummet thousands of feet!
Try Crocodile Spotting at the Mall
Visit the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo. As if an aquarium in a mall didn’t impress enough, witness the huge KING CROC in all his glory – he weighs more than 14 times that of Dwayne The Rock Johnson does! Other attractions include the VRZOO (Virtual Reality), the shark scooter (that’s a thing!), cage snorkeling, scuba diving, and much more!
Swim with Sharks
Visit the Aquaventure park at the Atlantis Hotel on the Palm, said to be one of the best in the Middle East and Europe, to indulge in all your water dreams. Swim with dolphins, go on a shark safari, fly down the epic slides in the water park, or hang out with the sea lions. We’ll let you in on a nifty trick too, you can get free entry to Aquaventure if you register your birthday online and visit the park within the 6 days after your birthday.
Sip Cocktails at the Burj Khalifa
The world’s tallest building – twice the height of the Empire State Building – stands at a whopping 2,722 ft (829.8 m) in height, and is a must for visitors to Dubai. Our tip, don’t spend all your money on a quick trip to the top at the viewing deck. Instead, spend a little extra and go to the top for cocktails or a bite to eat at Atmosphere – one of Dubai’s most glamorous bars perched on the 122nd floor, with a view of Dubai that’s second to none. Just be sure to book in advance.
Go on a Desert Safari
Want to enjoy the desert in style? We’ve got you covered. You can book a glamorous overnight desert safari and be joined by a Bedouin at breakfast or just go on a day trip. You can look forward to dune bashing in a 4×4, belly dancing and Tanoura performances, camel rides, gazelle sightings, and some aromatic Emirati coffee and dining.
Dance with Fountains
Possibly one of the most unique things in Dubai is the huge fountain display below the Burj Khalifa, next to Dubai Mall. Of course, because it’s in Dubai, it’s the largest choreographed fountain system in the world. With water reaching up to 140 meters high that syncs with lights and music, the spectacular display is a must see. Catch it every 30 minutes between 6 pm and 11 pm every day.
Soak in the Sun All Year Round
There’s no shortage of beaches in Dubai, so take your pick! The waters of the Arabian Gulf are warm for most of the year, and practically bath temperature in the summer. Chill in a cabana beachside at a hotel, find a deserted location or a good spot for kite surfing, or just relax with a milkshake and slider in hand, Dubai’s beaches have it all.
Skate around the Largest Mall in the World
Okay, you can’t skate around it, but you can skate on the Olympic size ice skating rink! Be sure to wear your most comfy footwear, because, with 1,200 retail outlets and a floor plan equivalent to 50 football pitches, you’ll definitely need them. Prepare to be amazed by the incredible interior design, the largest shoe department store in the world, the luxury shopping zone, massive waterfall, and don’t miss the giant dinosaur skeleton in the authentic souk area.
Drive a Supercar
Feed your need for speed at Dubai Autodrome. Cruise through the FIA sanctioned track in a power packed Audi R8 V10 and feel the blood rush as you’re instantly transported to the world of The Fast and The Furious. Youngsters between the ages of 12 to 18 can live it up with the First Drive Experience designed especially for their age group.
Experience 7-Stars For Luxury Hospitality
For a once-in-a-lifetime experience, stay a night at the Burj Al Arab and get a taste of the flamboyant lifestyle of Dubai’s elite – you may want to begin saving now! The distinctively designed sail-shaped structure with services like chauffeur driven Rolls Royces, helicopter rides, and private poolside cabanas, offers some of the best of fine dining experiences, and unparalleled luxury hospitality.
Go Skiing in a Mall
Yes, there’s a ski slope in the desert. Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates plays host to the first indoor ski resort in the Middle East. What could be a better way to escape the scorching Dubai sunshine for a day than to meet and play with snow penguins, sightsee from a chairlift, sip a cup of delicious hot chocolate, or simply ski!
